Getting Organized

My friend Beth Schneider gave some great advice this weekend on how to get organized.

Here are her 10 ways on jump-starting your organization:

1.       Break big projects into smaller more manageable pieces. Delegate and work at one piece at a time.

2.       Pick specific times of the day to check and answer email. Check it only during those times, handle the mail, delegate the mail or delete. That way you don’t have to keep visiting the same issue over and over.

3.       Have a regular team huddle. In football they come together for a couple of minutes to go over the plan and then execute. Use that model. Bring key team members together for 15 minutes, talk about the plan and the priorities, then execute and implement.

4.       Create role descriptions for key team members so they fully understand what is and is not their responsibility.

5.       Stop and explore some of the intermediate to advanced features of the technology you already own. Most people use a fraction of what their software is capable of. Utilize the technology you have to automate and streamline tasks.

6.       Implement a screening process. Have a series of questions you ask potential clients so you can quickly tell if they are a good fit for your programs.

7.       Create general scripts and FAQs so team members can answer questions and handle clients for you. You don’t have to write word for word scripts, but a general overview gives your team members the power to handle things without having to stop and ask you every minute.

8.       Have your team members create templates and checklists wherever and whenever they can. Then make sure they are using them.

9.       House frequently used scripts, checklists, templates and processes online so your virtual team has access to the tools they need to get things done faster. Try something like Google Docs or Officezilla. Both are free tools that are easy to use.

10.   Create a production schedule that plots your regular marketing efforts. Things like newsletters, direct mail, teleclasses, JV promotions, etc. This will establish the deadlines when things need to be released. Then work backwards to figure out when the work needs to get done to meet those deadlines.

So get with the VIBES and Get Organized!

Labor Day 2010

Themes and Ideas

Regatta

Bring out the boats and put on the bathing-suits . Its regatta time! The biggest and best regattas happen on Labor Day. Most people decide to venture out to a sandbar in the middle of ocean and others take the weekend for a journey. Some locations that I’ve heard about are the Keys, Key Biscayne, Bal Harbor , Sarasota, and the best are of course those states up north…Thinking Maryland and cannot forget New York. New York is where the original Labor Day celebrations all began. So fire -up those boat grills and start dropping anchor.

Unique cocktails, serious racing and when night falls the party continues on shore.

Dress Code Ideas

Bring on the red, white, and blue. The nautical theme is huge this season. Not only for this great holiday but also for Remembrance Day on the 11th , which is not that far away.

All White Party

The last day of the year for most to wear white…only way to conclude is of course with an all white soiree. So find those gorgeous white dresses and stunning suits and get ready to parade on somebodies lawn. There is no better way to end the summer than with a traditional all white party.

As with most parties, once you choose a theme every detail easily falls into place. The color white captures the carefree, easy essence of summer , purity and and the beginning of a clean slate: from colorless cocktails to plush white pillows for guests to lounge on. White is an incredibly summery hue, looks great against a tan and other bright colors, and is easy to pull off.

Start your party in the early evening and fill your party space with soft candlelight. White candles should be scattered all around the yard to create the warm, sultry vibe .

White Flowers

  • Hydrangea
  • Roses
  • Stock
  • Gardenias
  • Calla Lilies
  • Chrysanthemums
  • Orchids

150 Years of Excellence

We did it again! Another out of this world event by the VIBE. Have you ever dreamed of a world that smoke rises from your drinks , where a Tesla car drives through stilt walker’s legs and where 150 years and history unveils itself.

Tag Heuer has been traveling the globe and celebrating their 150th anniversary. Without a doubt- they had to stop in the City of Miami Beach. Our great city was host to this luxury brand for a full week of outlandish activities, covering Brickell to SOBE.   It would be an understatement to say that  they left some tread marks behind.

The Tesla car that was revealed at the big event  at The Temple House, it was test- driven during the week by the members of the media. Seeing that beauty pull out of the Mondrian lot was mouth-dropping! The wave of the future- charging up your car every night before you go to bed. Its sleek lines and curves will have any guy ready to test this baby…but lets slow down there. A specimen this gorgeous is going to cost a fortune! So for now see if you can catch its next appearance in New York. Its final destination before heading back over to Europe.

Our Results

One night of pure entertainment, high energy, luxury styled living, and celebrity findings.

August Inspirations

Things you may want to keep an eye out for this coming August. That’s right the color pallets are changing and so are the events. Here are a few things that are inspiring us for this month.

Color Trends

( In Fashion)

Blue. Blue is hot for . And you can find variation of it in multiple designer ranges. From light delicate blue to dark saturated and even midnight blue – this trend will work just perfectly for the fashion season.

Grey. There are colors that are ideal for certain weather. So, grey is a perfect option for rainy fall and muddy winter. This color trend is essential for the upcoming fashion season.

Green. Green is a color we miss a lot during cold months. So, a green coat or pants or anything will help you bring good memories of summer and spring. Try the green color trend and remind yourself of invigorating spring mornings!

Beige. This tone has always been a trend. It is perfect to combine with other colors and looks neat and sophisticated. When wearing this hue you look good no matter where you are. Beige is a top trend for Fall/ Winter 2010/2011!

Red. This color is the sexiest of all. Woman in red is certainly in the center of attention. And isn’t that what we all strive for?

Brown. Brown is neutral and this makes it a must-have for your wardrobe. Things in brown usually become staples and serve you for long. Thus, invest into a nice piece you will want to have forever.

Orange. Just like red and pink this hue is to brighten up you day…

4. Reading:

“Like most humanoids, I am burdened with what the Buddhists call the ‘monkey mind’– the thoughts that swing from limb to limb, stopping only to scratch themselves, spit, and howl. From the distant past to the unknowable future, my mind swings wildly through time, touching on dozens of ideas a minute, unharnessed and undisciplined.”

Weddings In The Summer…

Colors Trending

These colors are classic for any beach/ summer wedding theme and most of the ideas for decor that you usually find will come from this palette , but we challenge you to try the colors from the second palette.

Stand-out- Summer- Wedding! Be unique and give your wedding that extra pop of color  it needs so you won’t get washed out with all of those neutrals.

The montage of images are from squidoo and In The Details their inspiration boards are quite nice.

Inspirations for Breaking Traditions

Walking Away from old Traditions in those Snazzy Shoes

By Molly Bermea 20 May, 2010

For the last 5-years wedding traditions have been melting away. Planning for the big day has become a lot more fun and has almost turned into a competition on being the most unique. We’ve got to lend credit to the many wedding-related TV reality series which cover anything from stress-crazed Bridzillas to dancing outside the box with Rock the Reception to the many cake related reality shows showcasing both wedding and non-wedding (Cake Boss, Ace of CakesAmazing Wedding Cakes). It’s not that incorporating unique elements into weddings is something new. It’s that more people are becoming aware of their options and that it is OK to do so. Be it your entire theme or just using funky little accessories here and there to add pizazz.

Try it-I dare you- and NOT HAVE A WHITE DRESS for your wedding. In some cultures it’s common not to have a white dress. Why not join in on all the fun and choose a color that best suits you! Click it to see what others have done- Do you Dare to try color?

Finding A Photographer

Check out the links to see full blogs and details for the photos-Nicole Caldwell, Natalie James, Andrea Carlyle, Green Wedding Shoes and The Flash Dance

Finding a photographer is very important for your engagement and wedding sessions. These are the memories that will be viewed and talked about for a long time.  Above is a collage of poses and locations that I thought were amazing.

Things you want to remember when getting ready for your close-ups!

  • Make Sure you are comfortable with your photographer
  • Choose an epic location
  • Always bring several different outfits
  • Mostly, have fun!

Having A Back-Up Plan!

With South Florida’s weather we know better than not to have a back-up plan . Miami’s summer climate means you never  know what to expect,  so you should always have a place where your guest can go to continue the party if the weather is not working in your favor.

Our number one pick of course is Tenting.  You’re able to still keep everyone in a semi-outdoor environment and there isn’t much grounds to cover to reach the safety of the tent.

Giving Back !

Wish Upon A Wedding is a non-profit organization that creates everlasting moments for individuals that are faced with a terminal illness. Help support someone’s  magical day by wearing a “Wishing Star” and giving towards the cause. The star is no bigger the a dime and of course it’s something blue. Want more information on how to help out?- Click Wishing Star.

Have we gotten you excited about weddings this season? Make sure you do your research before you start to plan anything and find an event planner that fits you and fully embodies your ideas.

Catch up with the VIBES in a few and- until next time- tell us what you think of our inspirations !
